I am brand new to cookiecad and am really excited to use this program. I figured out how to add a label to a center bar on a cookie cutter, but it looks like the words are on the underside of the center bar. Is there a way to move them to either the upper side of the center bar or on the edge of the handle? I have heard about using 3D Builder, but it doesn’t seem available anymore, especially for a Mac. Is there another free and easy way to do this? Any advice is welcome for this newbie!
Hi Michelle,
It is indeed possible to customize the label placement on your cookie cutter using CADit, which is integrated with Cookiecad. Here’s how you can do it:
- Adding text to your cookie cutter:
There’s a helpful guide in our documentation that explains the process step-by-step:
How to add text to a cookie cutter using CADit | Cookiecad Help CenterThis guide should walk you through the process of adding text to your cutter design. - Placement options:
You can place the text:
- On a flat center bar inside the cutter
- On the handle if it’s wide enoughUnfortunately, at the moment, you can’t bend the words to follow the curve of the cutter’s edge. This feature may be added in the future.
- Custom bars:
If you want more control over where to place your text, you can create custom bars in any location using the CADit integration. This could help you position the text exactly where you want it. Here’s a guide on how to do that:

By combining these techniques, you should be able to add your label to either the upper side of a center bar or create a custom bar near the handle to place your text.
