Outer line edge

Every time I have a detailed shape top make a cutter I have a lip egde/rim around it near the imprint line. When I select “delete outer line” it completely changes my design. If i leave the lip edge it looks weird on my clay piece once cut. Can this issue be fined?

So frustrated with this as I love cookiecad, however this makes it hard to design detailed cutters.
